Babel, available in Sky Italia’s entertainment package on Channel 141, and dedicated to “new Italians” – people of non-Italian origin living in Italy - confirms its collaboration with IMAFestival as Media Partner of the international event. Invito a Cena, Storie di (stra)ordinaria Integrazione (Invitation to Dinner Invito a Cena - Stories of (extra)ordinary integration), a new cross between a reality program and documentary that focuses attention on Italy’s growing immigration issue will be the sample format used for IMAFestival’s new “Television Formats” section within the FILM category.

 

"Invito a Cena", produced by Babel, and written and directed by Angelo Bozzolini, features the narrating voice of Giuseppe Battiston, Italian actor amongst the first to sign the “Cinema for the Migrations” paper presented at the 68° edition of Venice’s international film festival. Each episode will tell the story of a specific geographic area featuring an Italian and an immigrant, both of whom live in that area. The pair will get to know each other over food from the immigrant’s home country, sparking discussions about the role of immigrants in Italy and the foreigner’s cuisine. At the end of the episode, the recipe for the dinner the immigrant prepared will be posted.
