IMAF - Special Prize GRANA PADANO for the Visual Art

SPECIAL PRIZE GRANA PADANO FOR THE VISUAL ART

For IMAFestival Second Edition, GRANA PADANO has decided to award the art twice!

Apart from the audience award, the most exported cheese brand also proposes the Special Prize GRANA PADANO for the Visual Art Category. A jury, that will soon be announced on this website, will choose the best visual art work (painting, installation, sculpture, video art or photography) inspired by the cheese Grana Padano.

The winner of the Special Prize will be awareded during the Ceremony that will be held in Milan in May 2012, will fly to London witn IMAFestival for the big event that will be organized during the Omlypic Games at the end of July and will win a ticket to see one of the Olympic finals!

To participate tick the right choice in the submission page. The works submitted for the Special Prize Grana Padano for the Visual Art Category will participate also to the main competition.

The inspiration for this prize derives from the beautiful work Route 55 by Michela Martello part of the exhibition Mangia l'Arte (Eat Art) that travelled with IMAFestival First Edition to Milan, New York and Los Angeles.

Michela has commented on her work as follows:

"We are what we eat. We are the genetic memory and the memory of our habits, like the aromas of food with which I grew up. The kitchen in my house when my mother used to call us and on the table I would find pasta with the cheese ready to be grated in top. America evokes these memories in me exactly because they are so far away."
